TxGold - Getting Started (Advanced Users)

Note - These instructions are for advanced users i.e. those familiar with crypto-currencies and digital wallets. If you are looking for an easier set of step-by-step instructions, please click here.

To get starting using TxGold, complete the following 3 steps -

  1. Pick a Wallet. TxGold is sent and received using a digital wallet.

    • There are several wallets available, but we currently recommend using Interstellar - it is free and available on a variety of platforms (even a plain old browser).

    • Before proceeding to step 2, you need to first add TxGold as a new asset/coin in your wallet. Most wallets let you search by Asset Code.

      • For Asset Code, use TxGold. If needed, the issuer code is GBNUEQUYB7MWDCYLLZ2XWDI7DMVXQN6R3DMMUHLJI5MRRS2J7BRLD45X.

      • Note that the Asset Code is case sensitive! Some wallets (e.g., BlockEQ) may try to convert to all uppercase if you are entering the info manually, don’t let that happen!

  2. Register. To comply with U.S. regulations, we collect/verify a small set of user information. Registration only takes a few minutes, you can register here.

  3. Acquire TxGold tokens. If you have a friend or customer who wants to send you TxGold, congratulations! Hit Receive in your wallet, and then provide them your Address/QR Code. Otherwise, here are 4 ways to acquire TxGold:

    1. Exchange other crypto/virtual currencies. We will maintain an active list of offers to exchange TxGold for other currencies. (Note, RMF uses the proceeds from any exchanges to purchase physical gold)

    2. Purchase gold coins (1 oz American Eagle or 1 oz American Buffalo) from one of the following companies - and have them ship the gold directly to the Texas Bullion Depository -

      • Wholesale Coins Direct. Purchases can be made with ECheck/Wire or Credit Card/PayPal

      • JM Bullion. This company accepts BitCoin payments (in addition to check/CC/PayPal).

      • NOTE. Before you make a purchase, you need to first contact us via email (support@restoremoney.org) and tell us about your planned purchase. We will respond with a “packing slip” that will need to be included in your order. The packing slip, which contains the physical shipping address and other information, can be provided to Wholesales Coins/JM Bullion via email, over the phone, or with your physical check (if using that payment option).

    3. Ship existing gold (minted coins only, as of now) to the Texas Bullion Depository. Before you do this, you need to first contact us via email (support@restoremoney.org) and tell us about your planned shipment - including the amount, type, and pictures of your gold coins. We will then respond with next steps.

    4. Initiate a transfer of holdings (for existing Texas Bullion Depository account holders). Before you do this, you need to first contact us via email (support@restoremoney.org) and tell us about your planned transfer - including the amount and type of your gold coins.
